UK Trade Sec. Fox: US tariffs on the UK would be 'quite absurd'

More comments hitting the wires from the UK Trade Secretary Liam Fox, this time speaking on the US tariffs.

“Currently UK steel goes to US defense projects, so for the US to apply tariffs on the UK on the basis of national security would be 'quite absurd'.

Have met up with EU trade commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom yesterday, and that the UK and EU are working together to try and get a permanent exemption from US tariffs.

They will also look at any joint action including 'safeguarding measures' if the tariffs distort the steel trade.”
